“September is childhood cancer and blood cancer awareness month. Sarah is a childhood leukemia survivor and has volunteered with many related organizations over the years. She has continually been involved with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society since her diagnosis. In 2016, she ran for LLS Student of the Year, is currently training with Team in Training to raise money while training for the Disney marathon, and is planning on running for LLS Woman of the Year in 2020. She has been a wish granter for Make-a-Wish since 2013 to help fulfill the wishes and dreams of children with chronic or life-threatening diseases. Since 2011 she has volunteered at Camp Quality NWMO, a week-long summer camp for kids with cancer.  At STLCOP, she has served on committees with ACCP, ASHP, and PPAG; as well as served as vice-chair for Operation Cancer. They held Alex’s Lemonade Stand, made holiday cards for the local children’s hospital, made blankets and care packages, volunteered at Light the Night, and volunteered at Hunt for the Cure among other
events.”

“Brianna Denton was initiated into Kappa Psi last fall. Since then she has gone above and beyond to become more involved in our chapter, including stepping into the role of Philanthropy Chair for this coming year. Although we have only been in school for a few weeks, we can already see a positive outcome from Brianna’s involvement in this role. She has stepped out of her comfort zone to make rushes feel welcome and to ensure they are knowledgeable about our philanthropic roles in our community. We are very excited to see where she leads our chapter this year!”
