Satrap’s Corner – August 2015

Dear Brothers,
I hope you all have had a great summer! Many of us have recently returned from the 57th GCC in Denver, CO and it was an amazing experience. For those of you that attended, I hope it inspired you to return to your chapters and implement some great new ideas! There were also some amazing ideas that I hope we can use at the Province level.
Throughout the rest of the summer the executive committee has been keeping busy with various projects. As many of you may have seen we have selected the American Cancer Society as our new province philanthropy. Brother Becca Mousseau and the philanthropy committee are collaborating with IL and STL grad for the Making Strides Against Cancer events in Chicago and St. Louis on October 24, 2015. Watch for more information to come! Brother Becca has also done a great job revising our Chapter of the Year form. The first submission will be dueSeptember 15th. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask myself or Becca!
Planning for fall province is in full swing and we are looking to post the registration page in the next week. Don’t forget to mark your calendars for October 16th and 17th! Beta Upsilon at Butler University in Indianapolis will be hosting. Come ready to share ideas and some great fellowship with your Brothers!
I wish you all the best and hope that everyone returning to classes gets the semester off to a great start! I look forward to seeing you all in October in Indy!!
PTBYB,
Sarah

Satrap’s Corner – May 2015

Dear Brothers,

I want to say what an honor it is to have the opportunity to serve as your Satrap for the coming year. The Mid-America Province Executive Committee has hit the ground running and is hard at work to get this year off to a great start. I would like to congratulate all of our new graduate brothers of the Class of 2015 and wish you all the best wherever life may lead. I would encourage you all to seek out a graduate chapter in your area and remain involved in Kappa Psi as you pursue careers, residencies, or fellowships. I wish all the best to those who are starting rotations, and even though you may not be on campus I encourage you to continue to attend Province conclaves and GCC. My first GCC was during my rotation year in 2013 and it was a life-changing experience that I will never forget.

I would like to remind everyone of the upcoming chartering of Zeta Mu chapter at University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Pharmacy at Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri on June 13th. The Initiation and Ritual will begin at 4pm followed by the chartering ceremony and reception at 5:30pm and dinner at 6:30pm. Grand Historian Dr. Christy Askew has posted detailed information regarding the ceremony, travel, and accommodations on the MAP Google and Facebook groups. Please RSVP for the ceremony by June 5th so that dinner reservations can be made. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact myself, Brother Christy, or GCD Dr. Lyons-Burney. I have heard of many brothers planning on attending and hope we can welcome Zeta Mu into our great Fraternity with 99 hands there to show them our support.

I look forward to working with you all over the next year and if you ever have any questions, concerns, or just need a Brother’s help please don’t hesitate to contact me. You can reach me via the Satrap email account at kymapsatrap@gmail.com or via text/phone at 317-512-4834. I hope to see you all at GCC and PTBYB!

Fraternally,

Sarah Kuntz
